A hug is an action that, beyond giving, we must also receive, yet unfortunately, most people forget to share it. A hug soothes anxiety and relieves depression, reaffirming our existence as individuals while providing us with calmness and serenity.
When someone hugs us, our blood levels of oxytocin, known as the love hormone, increase. In this way, a hug lowers blood pressure and heart rate, giving us a sense of inner peace. A hug between two people usually lasts three seconds or less, but recent studies have shown that a hug lasting more than 20 seconds has a therapeutic effect on both the body and the mind.
On this occasion, I would like to share this emotional music video, in which a hug completely transforms the protagonist, who finds himself in prison. "Stranded" is a track produced by Flight Facilities featuring the duo Broods, Reggie Watts, and Saro. It is an audiovisual masterpiece directed by the great Tom Noakes, who does an excellent job of conveying the vital power of receiving a hug in a difficult moment.
Hugging is an act I recommend everyone do. So, please, do yourself a favor and hug someone you love; it could be your pet or a random person on the street, too.
